This policy explains what personal information iamthebestman.co.uk (the “website”) collects, why, and what rights you have. The website is run by Iamthebestman (“we”, “us”, “our”), which is the controller of your personal information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), how you’d like us to get in touch and your message.
- Stag do package enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, the package you’re interested in and any details you add, such as dates, group size or location.
- Free guide sign-up: your first name, email address and whether you’d like to receive best man tips by email.
- Comments, speeches and stories you send us: your name, email address, the content you send, and the IP address you sent it from.
- Emails and phone calls: whatever you choose to tell us when you contact us directly.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies): how you use the website, such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the site you came from, and your device, browser and approximate location. We use Google Analytics for this.
- Security logs: your IP address and basic request details. We use these to protect the website from attacks and spam.
- Spam protection: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which collects information about your device and how you interact with the page to check you’re human.

3. Who we share it with
- Stag do providers: when you send a package enquiry, we pass your details to the provider of that package so they can reply. They handle your information under their own privacy policy. If you go on to book, your booking is with them.
- Service providers who help us run the website: our web hosting company, Google (Analytics and reCAPTCHA), our email provider and our website security tools. They process information only on our instructions.
- Advertising and social media partners, such as Meta (Facebook), but only if you accept marketing cookies.
- Embedded content: some pages include YouTube videos. These only load after you accept the relevant cookies. Once loaded, YouTube may collect information as described in Google’s privacy policy.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Affiliate links
Some links on the website are affiliate links. If you click one, the company you visit (and its affiliate network) may set cookies to record that you came from us, so we can be paid a commission if you book or buy. That company’s own privacy and cookie policies apply on its website.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers, such as Google and Meta, may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK–US data bridge or approved contract clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the reasons above. In practice, that means:
- messages and enquiries are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch;
- mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe;
- published comments and submissions stay on the website until they’re removed;
- analytics data is kept in line with our Google Analytics retention settings.
We review what we hold regularly and delete information we no longer need.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies. Apart from those needed for the website to work, we only set them with your consent, which you give or refuse through our cookie banner and can change at any time. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
- ask for your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, unsubscribing from emails or changing your cookie settings).

9. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Children
The website is intended for adults and is not aimed at anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
