Nothing says “we are a stag party, please let us in” quite like twelve lads in matching t-shirts. Now, it might not actually get you into the bar. But it does make the photos, it makes your group easy to spot when someone wanders off at 2am, and it gives the stag something to remember the weekend by (whether he wants to or not).
Stag do t-shirts are cheap, easy to sort online and one of the few stag do accessories that everyone will actually wear. Here’s how to get them right.
Stag do t-shirt ideas
- Personalised t-shirts. Everyone’s name or nickname on the back. Nicknames are where the fun starts, so choose wisely and run them past the group first. Mostly.
- Funny slogans. A daft line on the front and the stag’s name on the back. Keep it clever rather than crude and you’ll get a lot more smiles from strangers.
- Photo t-shirts. The classic: the most embarrassing picture of the stag you can find, printed on every shirt. School photos, bad haircuts and old holiday snaps all work well.
- Tour t-shirts. Done like a band tour shirt, with the destination and dates on the back. A nice souvenir once the hangover has gone.
- Role t-shirts. “The Stag”, “The Best Man”, “The Brother”, “The One Who Will Get Lost”. One different shirt for the stag, matching ones for everyone else.

Tips for ordering stag do t-shirts
- Order early. Printed t-shirts take time to make and deliver, especially for a big group. Give yourself plenty of time before you travel, and a bit more for any mistakes.
- Get everyone’s size. Don’t guess, and don’t trust the lad who swears he’s still a medium.
- Mind the wording. The photos will outlive the hangover. If the stag’s mum, nan or future in-laws would be horrified, maybe tone it down a notch.
- Bring a normal shirt for later. Some bars and clubs aren’t keen on obvious stag groups, so pack something smarter for the evening.
- Add it to the stag do budget. It’s easiest if the best man orders the lot and everyone pays their share, rather than twelve separate orders.
